The Rat with a Hat is a series of projects about a small rat who meets different animals, her friends, and experiences quiet, meaningful stories. Each story carries a message between the lines and invites the viewer to slow down, reflect, and dream a little.
In this personal work, I combine my love for storytelling, animals, and illustration in a soft and minimalistic way. The atmosphere is calm and a bit magical, creating a world that feels dreamy.

The first project is a book created completly analog. Everything from the images to the text is handmade. The book is an experimental project: it consists of two parts that have to be opened and read at the same time, making the reading experience more interactive and tactile.
The second project was created for the exhibition "Overlays" in our Master’s program at the Faculty of Design. It was shown on two old tube TVs and presents an animated film that continues the story of the rat with a hat enhancing the retro, analog style from the vintage tvs.
